One thing that is still missing is the merging of the reader and the writer. Not only in the aspect that a reader can be a writer, but in the aspect that a good blogger listens to the comments, follows the trackback and thus get more informed. As many have testified here in Sweden: It’s hard to grasp where my intellectual process end and the commentaries start. So in this way the idé of reading and commenting is as important as the actual writing.

Sure - the conversation is the thing, as it were.
Though looking at many online news brands, the commentary there does not exactly start an intellectual process at all, as the commentary is mostly filled with invective. It’s probably easier to engage with an individual blogger - ideally someone who doesn’t allow anonymous comments…
