The journa-list

Linking is a key part of blogging - so here's a link to the beta version of The Journa-list, a site launched by Martin Moore at the Media Standards Trust (he blogs about the site here). On this site, you can search for UK journalists by name to see what they write about, whether there are any patterns to what they write about (Moore has a previous post on this here), or search the other way around, i.e. by subject area to see who is writing about a particular subject.
A potentially great tool for audiences, don't you think? One of my hobbyhorses has always been the lack of transparency in journalism, i.e. that we as audience members actually have little opportunity to see the patterns and processes behind the news. This tool seems to make at least UK journalism a bit more transparent...
